# Found in Brisbane.

Brisbane and Gold Coast businesses get found in Google and in AI assistants the same way: by giving search engines a complete, consistent and well reviewed picture of the business in every place it trades. That means a complete Google Business Profile with the right category and real service areas, a steady flow of genuine reviews, a website with a dedicated page for each city and each service, matching listings on Bing Places and Apple Business Connect, structured data that machines can read, and mentions from trusted directories and publications. AI assistants like ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot and Claude draw on those same sources, so the work that wins the map results also wins the recommendations.

## Start with your Google Business Profile

For anyone searching "near me" or naming a suburb, your Google Business Profile does more work than any page on your website. Choose the primary category that describes what you actually do, then add secondary categories for the rest. Fill in every field: hours, services with short descriptions, a business description written for customers, your website and genuine photos.

If customers do not come to you, set the profile up as a service area business. Hide the street address and list the areas you genuinely cover, such as Brisbane, Ipswich, Logan, Redland City, Moreton Bay, the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast. Showing an address you do not trade from causes problems later, because every edit gets checked against it.

Keep the profile alive. Post updates, answer questions, add new photos from real work and reply to every review. An active profile is a strong signal that the business is real and current.

## Reviews decide the local results

Reviews are one of the most important local ranking factors, and they are what a person reads before they call. AI assistants read them too, often summarising what customers say about a business when they recommend it.

The approach that works is simple and steady. Ask every happy client personally, send them the direct review link, and make it part of how each project finishes. Reply to every review, positive or not, in a way that sounds like a person. A business with a steady stream of recent, detailed reviews looks far more trustworthy than one with a burst of reviews from years ago.

## Give each city and each service its own page

A single services page cannot rank for everything. Search engines and AI assistants match a question to the page that answers it best, so give each service its own page and each city you genuinely serve its own page. Our pages for [Brisbane](https://www.highimpactmarketing.com.au/marketing-brisbane), the [Gold Coast](https://www.highimpactmarketing.com.au/marketing-gold-coast) and the [Sunshine Coast](https://www.highimpactmarketing.com.au/marketing-sunshine-coast) are examples.

Each city page needs real local substance: the suburbs you cover, how you work in that area, what local customers ask about, and answers specific to that market. A Gold Coast page should talk about the tourism calendar and the hospitality and property sectors that drive the coast. A Brisbane page should reflect a business community competing with national brands. Pages that only swap the city name are treated as thin and ignored.

## Do not forget Bing and Apple

Google is the biggest search engine in Australia, but it is not the only source AI assistants use. Bing powers Microsoft Copilot and feeds a number of other AI search tools, and Apple Maps answers every "Hey Siri, find a" question on an iPhone.

Claim your business on Bing Places for Business and on Apple Business Connect, with exactly the same name, phone number, website, hours and service areas as your Google profile. Register your website in Bing Webmaster Tools as well as Google Search Console and submit your sitemap to both. If your website supports IndexNow, Bing and other participating engines are told about new and updated pages within minutes.

## Make the website readable by machines

Structured data is code that tells search engines and AI systems exactly what your business is, where it operates, what it offers and how to contact it. Use it to describe the business, each service, each city page, your frequently asked questions and the people behind the business. It does not change what a visitor sees, but it removes the guesswork for every system that reads the page.

Two newer additions are worth making. A plain text file at /llms.txt gives AI assistants a short summary of the business in your own words, and plain text versions of your key pages make your content easy for AI tools to read and quote accurately. Check that your robots.txt lets the main AI crawlers in; some website platforms block them by default.

## Keep your details identical everywhere

Your name, phone number, website and service areas should read exactly the same on your website, Google, Bing, Apple, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and every directory. If the business has changed its name, structure or domain, update every listing and set up permanent redirects from the old website so nothing is lost. Inconsistent details are one of the most common reasons a local business is overlooked.

## Earn mentions from trusted sources

When an AI assistant is asked for a good provider in Brisbane or on the Gold Coast, it leans on sources that compare and review businesses. Directories built on verified client reviews, such as Clutch, are cited often in AI answers, as are local business publications, industry associations, awards and podcasts.

Each genuine mention is an independent source confirming that your business exists, what it does and that clients rate it. Build them steadily: list the business on the directories that matter in your industry, ask clients for reviews there too, offer useful comment to journalists and enter the awards worth winning.

## Check, measure and keep going

Look at Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools every month to see which searches you appear for and which pages are being found. Check your Google Business Profile insights for calls, website visits and direction requests. Then ask the main AI assistants the questions your customers would ask, and note whether your business is named and how it is described.

Questions

Quick answers

Should a business without a shopfront show its address on Google?

No. If customers do not visit you, set your Google Business Profile up as a service area business, hide the street address and list the areas you genuinely serve.

Do I need separate pages for Brisbane and the Gold Coast?

If you genuinely work in both, yes. A dedicated page with real local detail for each city gives search engines and AI assistants a clear answer to match a local question to.

Is Bing worth bothering with in Australia?

Yes. Bing powers Microsoft Copilot and feeds a number of AI search tools, so a complete Bing Places listing and a site registered in Bing Webmaster Tools help you appear in AI answers as well as in Bing itself.

How do AI assistants decide which local businesses to recommend?

They draw on the information they can find and trust: your website, your Google and Bing listings, reviews, directories and media mentions. Businesses with complete, consistent and well reviewed information across those sources are the ones most often named.
